Internationally famous for his definitive studies on openings, chess theories and large body of work, Schiller is a National and Life Master, and an International Arbiter of F.I.D.E. chess tournaments.Schiller is the editor and co-author of Batsford Chess Openings co-written with Raymond Keene and World Champion Garry Kasparov. He is the official coach of the best under-18 players representing the United States at the Chess Olympiads as well as being the personal coach of the only 12 year old ever to play at a higher level of chess than the legendary World Champion Bobby Fischer at the same age.
